Had some time to treat myself to lunch on a Saturday afternoon and I decided to swing into Mikko Sushi to give it a go. I'm happy to report I had a quick but satisfying lunch comprised of two orders of both sake/salmon and hamachi/yellowtail nigiri. Beautifully cut, generously portioned and properly presented, I was very satisfied with my mid 20 lunch. I'm going to bring the Mrs back here with me so we can delve a bit deeper than I did into their offerings. Excellent value and quality IMNHO.
Go here at least 2 birthdays out of the year and any other occasion we get the chance my 6year olds favorite is the shrimp tempura, caterpillar roll and the eel roll. Which luckily are some of my favorites too all my kids love it here they are 9,8,7,6 so it’s super friendly all ages. Been coming to mikkos since I was their age. The stuffed mushrooms and jalapenos are amazing too!!
Probably the best Sushi I've had in North County. The restaurant itself is large enough to mitigate waiting, but small enough to feel like a local place to step away for a meal. The service was pleasant and knowledgeable. They were able to answer questions confidently and gave good advice on which choice to make based on taste preference. The Chefs really know what they're doing! If you love Sushi and you're in downtown Vista, make sure you swing by for happy hour!
I was greeted immediately. Staff is very friendly. The place is very clean and smells delicious the moment you walk in. Great music selection I tried the Escondido.. so fresh and had layers of flavor. I highly recommend Can't wait to try more next time

Came here for my cousins birthday while on vacation in Vista and I’m so grateful our Airbnb host recommended it!!! It was absolutely delicious, so fresh and decent portions for the price! The dynamite roll was the best we’ve ever had, If I lived there it would definitely be one of my normal spots
Great sushi. The selection is just like every other sushi spot, but the quality was superb. The nigiri was fresh and buttery. The rolls were good-sized and had lots of flavor and texture. We ordered the pickled Wasabi, which is a must for me, and the portion was much larger than other sushi spots. Our server, Alli, was surprised at how much we ordered for just 2 people, but she was attentive. Our food came out quickly, and she checked in with us multiple times to make sure everything was just right. Pricing was reasonable, too. If you're in the Vista area, this is a must stop place for sushi.
